Tour de Fleece starts today!

  The Tour de Fleece, a fabulous event where spinners create yarn coinciding with the Tour de France, starts today! This Tour de Fleece started in 2006 on the blog, Keep on Knitting in the Free World. This year, the Tour de Fleece starts today and runs until Sunday July 22nd, 2012. Guidelines (NOT RULES): Spin every day the Tour rides, if possible. Saturday June 30th through Sunday July 22nd. Days of rest: Tuesday July 10th and Tuesday July 17th. (Just like the actual tour.) There is joy in failure

I thought about the closing of Spin-U for a couple of days before making the announcement. I worried about how people would react. Would they be kind, or would they be cruel? When you have been thinking about getting away, meeting with your tribe, a change of plans can be upsetting. I had an image in my head of people spreading rumors, saying mean things online or worse yet, in person or via email. It was so disturbing to me that I avoided making the announcement for four days.
