Evolution of a Sock
This week, I only really have enough brain left for a pair of socks. I’ve been working on the first of a pair of Mojo socks by Donyale Grant.
This is a pair of unmatching socks, fraternal twins. I started with the right foot, and after a while I noted how… unusual looking it was:
I posted a picture to Facebook and chuckled about its appearance. I kept knitting.
I get to knit during my commute in to and out of the city. It’s probably two hours of knitting time, all told, although my commute is much longer than that. I have very little knitting time on the weekends, and I’m not a fantastically fast knitter.
I hope to have this sock done tomorrow, with the left foot started. It’s not exciting knitting, but it keeps my hands occupied.
I totally do not understand this sock…but I love it.
It’s kind of a make it up as you go along type pattern. The toe starts wide, which is great for my toes, but you can substitute your favorite toe. Then it’s a combination of ribs and ridges. Insert toe of your choice, finish leg. It’s a free download. You should check it out!
