About Us

Welcome to Knit One Spin Too. I aim to bring fiber arts to you. That means workshops to your area, knowledge to your computer, and information to your hands.

I’m starting out with my very first series of workshops on July 12 – 14  2013. On April 1 or so, I will open registration for a weekend of workshops held at Hofstra University in Uniondale, NY. I’m calling this new event “Spin-U 2013”, since I hope to have more than one Spin-U in the future. You’ll be able to find out more information as I have it via our Events page.

Everyone knows the Bodhi Ravatar

Lauren Haiken – Spinner, Knitter, Baby Weaver. After moving to Long Island, NY from Maryland, Lauren discovered that there were far fewer opportunities for continuing fiber education than she was used to. She decided that she would create her own venue for teaching, and bring other teachers to her community too.

Hey look! It’s Todd!

Todd Haiken – Not a Spinner, Weaver, or Knitter, Todd is a supportive husband helping his wife bring her dream to fruition.
